Employment Training Center

The Right to Work

At Feuerstein Institute, we believe in the ability of adults with special needs to continue to grow and learn, and in their basic right to participate in normal, interesting, and challenging work. The Feuerstein Employment Training Program provides differently-abled young adults with a range of employment and educational activities geared toward the goal of helping them to integrate into the workforce in meaningful positions of employment.

A Place for Everyone, According to Their Abilities

The Employment Training Center runs two distinct programs for young men and wome ages 21+, tailored to the needs and abilities of their participants. They are:

  • People to People (Anashim Le’Maan Anashim)
  • Green Program

Both programs are rooted in the Feuerstein methodology and incorporate its principals and instruments into their curriculums.

People to People

People to People is an intensive, multi-phase employment program which trains its participants for meaningful careers as community treatment workers, aiding the elderly and assisting in kindergarten classrooms. The program includes a preparatory stage for the purpose of completing basic studies, professional studies, practical experience with various population groups, employment placement in their field of focus, assistance, guidance and consultation throughout the process.

In addition to acquiring occupational skills and knowledge across a broad range of relevant topics, People to People participants learn to become more independent, raise their self-esteem and heighten their thinking, understanding, and judgment.

Green Program

Designed for lower functioning adults, the Green Program offers training and employment in the fields of gardening and recycling, in addition to a full curriculum of activities designed to keep the participants engaged and interacting with their community and environment, while improving their overall level of function. Gardening, music, art, and managing an in-house juice bar are just some of the many activities that round out their education. The Green Program at the Feuerstein Institute is one of the only programs of its kind, providing young adults with severe cognitive or learning disabilities with an environment that endeavors to advance them, improve their learning skills, and integrate them as meaningful members of society.
