FIE Standard 2 of 2

Prerequisites:

The course is open to graduates of IE courses who already studied the first seven instruments of the IE program. Applicants are encouraged to read in advance the theoretical material available here and in Feuerstein, R. et al (2006) Creating and enhancing cognitive modifiability. Advanced Reading:

Materials:

Course participants will receive a set of 7 IE-2 (of 2) instruments, a manual for a key IE-2 (of 2) instrument Temporal Relations, and Teaching Diagrams.

Syllabus:

  • Applied aspects of MLE with diverse populations of students (regular, underachieving, minority, gifted, etc.);
  • Small group practice in IE lesson planning;
  • Principles and techniques of “bridging” the cognitive principles to the middle and high-school curriculum;
  • Cognitive analysis of curricular lessons;
  • Simulation of IE classroom instruction;
  • Comprehensive instruction in the material and didactics of second-level IE instruments: Family Relations; Temporal Relations; Instructions; Numerical Progressions; Syllogisms; Transitive relations; Representational Stencil Design.

The mastery of IE theory and instruments is evaluated by means of a questionnaire presented to the course participants on the last day of the course.

Certification: 

Course participants will be awarded a Certificate of Instrumental Enrichment Mediator Level 2 upon successful completion of the entire course requirements. The certificate is valid for four years from its issue date and is renewed subject to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conditions a. Submittal of a verification form of IE implementation to Feuerstein Institute (available here) reflecting at least 30 hours of work with IE-2 (of 2) instruments; b. Participation in annual lectures using e-learning, including successful completion of a questionnaire about the material presented in the lectures, or participation in annual “live” CPD seminars organized by local Authorized Training Centers, or attendance of additional IE or LPAD courses.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

The Feuerstein Institute reserves the right to cancel any courses which fail to meet the minimum participation requirement. Fees for courses canceled by the Institute will be refunded in full.

In cases where the participants cancel, there is a €100 processing charge for reimbursement of workshop fees for cancellations made before the registration deadline. There are no refunds for cancellations after June 1, 2023.
