Description

In this lesson you will learn how the concept of distance is embedded in the mediation that occurs within the assessment process (LPAD) and the instructional experience in the FIE programs. The role that the creation of distance plays in reaching the goals of MLE is explained, moving the learner from direct and guided experience to expansions of time, space, and functional responding (achieving transcendence through generalization and transformation). Its relationship to the process of bridging in FIE is exemplified. In assessment, the working concept of RMI (required mediational intervention) is described. Schemas for structuring and describing these concepts are presented and explained.
