Description
This lesson introduces a schematic description of the process of dynamic assessment and dynamic instruction, as embodied in the LPAD and the application of the FIE programs. It is a functional expansion of the “test-teach-test” paradigm that has been used to describe the “dynamic” approach. The expansion brings observation into the process, and shows when, how, and with what effects MLE is activated as a consequence of the observations and adaptations in responding that occur. It further structures the decisions that the mediator makes given the application of MLE to what has been observed. The new paradigm is designed to assist the assessor or teacher in guiding responses and planning interventions.
